These are external examples, not AppBuild customer results. Many combine an app with payments, marketing or management software. Individual results vary.

Selected examples

Chosen to show different kinds of outcome, not the largest percentages.

CafésProvider-reported case

Great Food at Leeds

+15% year-on-year café revenue

A university café operation launched a drink subscription inside its rewards app, supported by in-store, push and email promotion.

Context: Twelve-outlet campus setting; observational result from an app, subscription offer and campaign. Auto-renewal is not the percentage of all café customers retained.

CafésProvider-reported case

Rook Coffee

+45% order frequency among repeat customers through Craver

Rook Coffee combined ordering, payment and Square integration in its app.

Context: The repeat-customer comparison is not a count of new regulars. Baseline cohorts and period are not fully disclosed.

BarbersProvider-reported case

Wicks Barbershop

Over 90% bookings through online appointment system

Wicks combined a bespoke customer app with Square booking on its website and in-store tools.

Context: Online share includes multiple entry points; it is not an app-only share or 90% booking growth.

PilatesProvider-reported case

KOMO Studio

+33% reported revenue growth

Glofox’s customer-story listing reports 33% revenue growth at KOMO Studio over twelve months.

Context: Listing-level figure; linked detail page describes the app and platform but omits the number. Whole-platform result, not isolated app impact.

Hotels & staysProvider-reported case

Springfield House B&B

70–80% fewer repetitive guest questions

A nine-room English B&B used digital guest information integrated with Cloudbeds.

Context: Owner/provider-reported reduction; web guidebook plus property software, not an isolated native-app result.

Schools & educationProvider-reported case

University of Manchester

38,000+ app downloads in 2023

Manchester replaced printed open-day programmes with a mobile event guide.

Context: University event evidence; not a forecast for primary schools. Downloads do not measure active users or revenue.

CafésProvider-reported case

The Hideout @ Harper Farm

Nearly 400 active loyalty members

A 38-seat Yorkshire café recorded loyalty participation after adopting a digital stamp programme.

Context: Membership and redemptions are not additional customers or a measured revenue uplift. Bonus stamps mean stamps do not equal visits.

CafésProvider-reported case

OZH Coffee Shop

800+ active members

A hospital coffee shop reported substantial use of its digital loyalty programme.

Context: No control group or revenue increase is published; stamps and redemptions are not unique returning customers.

CafésProvider-reported case

Barbetta Café

480 active members

Barbetta reported sustained digital coffee loyalty activity.

Context: Cumulative activity, not an annual result or causal increase in repeat visits.

RetailProvider-reported case

Refill Therapy

2,300+ active members

Three London refill shops used a shared digital loyalty programme.

Context: Programme totals do not measure incremental revenue or additional visits.

Soft playProvider-reported case

Play Valley

2,800+ active members

Four UK play centres recorded adoption of a cross-location rewards programme.

Context: A stamp is a qualifying admission, not necessarily a separate family visit. Members are not newly acquired clients.

Nail salonsProvider-reported case

Lux Nails Bar

1,300+ active members

A UK nail salon recorded digital loyalty engagement during its first ten months.

Context: No published percentage increase in retention or revenue.

Beauty & tanningProvider-reported case

Avant Garde

1,400+ stamps issued

A Leicester beauty salon introduced digital rewards across treatments.

Context: Stamps are engagement events, not unique clients or extra visits. No revenue uplift is established.

Car valetingProvider-reported case

Carrera Car Wash

700+ active customers in programme

A Melbourne car wash used digital stamp rewards to maintain customer relationships.

Context: Programme participation is not a measured increase in customer retention.

BarbersProvider-reported case

Wicks Barbershop

Over 90% bookings through online appointment system

Wicks combined a bespoke customer app with Square booking on its website and in-store tools.

Context: Online share includes multiple entry points; it is not an app-only share or 90% booking growth.

BarbersProvider-reported case

Barber Barber

Almost 2× bookings after switching systems

Square reports that Barber Barber almost doubled bookings while consolidating appointments and operations.

Context: Approximate provider claim across five locations; no app-only attribution, exact baseline or return-client count.

Hair salonsProvider-reported case

Togninis

2% reported no-show rate

Phorest reports a 2% no-show rate at Togninis using its salon platform.

Context: This is the resulting rate, not a 98% reduction. It does not isolate a customer app.

Use the research

Four measures that are often confused

Revenue growth
A change in sales over a defined period. It may reflect several business changes, and does not automatically show an app’s causal effect.
Returning customers
Customers who buy again, measured within a defined cohort and period. A rate is different from an increase, and neither tells us how many extra clients an app caused.
Booking share
The proportion of appointments made through a channel. If 90% of bookings are online, that does not mean bookings grew by 90%.
Loyalty activity
Memberships, stamps and reward redemptions show participation. They do not by themselves measure extra visits or revenue.

Questions

No. These are published examples from external businesses and providers. Each record identifies the original publisher and links to the source.

There is no reliable universal percentage. Business model, adoption, offers, pricing, capacity and implementation all matter. Use matched examples to plan a measurable trial rather than promise the same outcome.

Usually not. Most commercial examples are provider-reported success stories combining an app with booking, payments, marketing or operational software. Each record explains its limits.

Most sources do not isolate that count. A returning-customer rate, app download, loyalty member or reward redemption is not automatically an additional customer caused by the app.

Yes. Use the original layouts and factual summaries with source links, definitions and limitations intact. Do not imply that the featured businesses are your customers or that they endorse you. Third-party source photography and logos are not included.

Some industries have no direct quantified result verified in this pack. Related examples may illustrate a useful mechanism, such as reminders or loyalty, but their figures must retain their original sector label.

Older material can still help explain a mechanism, but it is clearly dated. The healthcare review concerns historical SMS reminders, not present-day app push notifications. Checked date and study period are separate.

No. These records describe external implementations. Confirm the required features and integrations separately before proposing a solution.
